Top 10 Gardening Don'ts!
• Do not use too much fertilizer. You will get great healthy green foliage, but few or no blooms, fruit or vegetable production.
• Do not plant the seed too deep. Follow the directions on the back of the seed packet for planting depth or plant no deeper than the seeds circumference.
• Do not overwater or underwater. Keep the soil moist but not wet!
• Do not water after the sun goes down. Excessive water on the plants overnight can easily lead to disease.
• Do not plant your seed too early or too late. Follow the planting date recommendations for the area on the back of the packet.
• Do not plant without testing the soil first. Be sure the PH levels are correct for what you are planting and the nutrient levels are sufficient.
• Do not plant in the wrong spot. All varieties are either shady, partial shade, partial sun or sunny. Planting a variety in the wrong location will definitely lead to unhealthy plant or they will completely die off.
• Do not plant your plants too closely together. Some plants are invasive and will completely take over other plants. All plants will not perform to their full capacity if they are planted too closely together.
• Do not use too much pesticide. Pesticides can kill you plants if you use too much!
• Do not plant without properly preparing the soil. Soil that has not been prepared becomes compacted and hard. Tiny seedlings have an extremely hard time breaking through the soil and also have a hard time receiving proper moisture and air in compacted soil.
